The Lord Mayor of London Peter Estlin is leading a business delegation to Australia aimed a strengthening financial sector links between the two countries.The mayor – the UK’s global ambassador for its financial and professional services industry – will visit Perth, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. “I’m looking forward to my visit to Australia, a country that is a natural partner for the City of London and the UK’s financial services industry,” Mr Estlin said in a statement on Monday. “The UK’s relationship with Australia is already very strong, but there is still so much more that we can achieve.” As well as meetings with national and regional government leaders, he will also have talks with Australian Super and Macquarie Bank, while giving a speech at the two-day Australian Investment Council 2019 Conference on September 11 and 12.Accompanying Mr Estlin on his visit is a delegation drawn from fintech, asset management and green finance sectors.Source link Finance News Australia .
