Victoria's police boss will soon front a royal commission into the force's use of snitching lawyer Nicola Gobbo.
Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton is scheduled to give evidence about the 'Lawyer X' scandal on Monday and Tuesday.
It comes a day after Commissioner Margaret McMurdo ruled Ms Gobbo must also give evidence, despite her lawyer arguing she was too sick to do so.
